About
We're the Wasaga Woodworkers, an Ontario not-for-profit club dedicated to bringing people together through the art of woodworking. Our mission is to foster creativity, build meaningful connections, and make a positive impact on our community. We started operating in 1996, sponsored by Brian McLean of the Wasaga Home Care store, where BMR operates today. In 2008, we moved to the east end of Wasaga where we operate today with approximately 66 members.

What We Do:
-
We work on volunteer projects for community events and organizations on Mon & Wed (12:30-2:30). Afterwards we socialize over coffee at Harvey's in Stonebridge Mall.
-
We welcome members 24/7 to use the shop for personal projects except for the community project times. Safety protocols must be reviewed before operating any machinery. No commercial projects permitted.
-
We hold 7 Club General Meetings: 3rd Tuesday of every month (Oct-Nov, Jan-May) at the new Wasaga Stars Arena 7:00 PM for club business and woodworking demonstrations. (times and dates may change when there are conflicts)
-
We distribute "Shop Talk" newsletter
-
We hold a Club BBQ at the Sep General Meeting
-
We meet for a Christmas Dinner. Wood craft gifts and prizes. Held in late Nov or early Dec.

Our Shop:
Our 400 sq ft workshop, plus additional storage in one small wood shed, built by original members, and part of a second shed gives us approximately 1000 sq ft in total. The shop is a woodworker's dream, accessible 24/7 via keypad except for during community build times, when we encourage members to volunteer their time.
