A little rain didn't stop the BBQ
We kicked off the new year with the annual BBQ and General Meeting. The food was amazing: burgers, sausages, beans, salad, and desserts; and the conversation lively. Thank you for coming out to celebrate another amazing year of woodworking and community service. Many thanks to the volunteers who made it all happen: Ross & Susan for spending hours prepping the burgers and bacon. Peter, Dave L., Dave La., Melodi, & Michael for running presentations, setting up, collecting dues,

New Shop Workbench
On Saturday October 2, Peter, Dave La, and Ross started the final leveling of our new workbench. Peter crafted the sled, which is used to plane large pieces of wood. The router sits in the sled and is moved across the workbench to achieve a smooth surface. It took about 6 or 7 passes to get the top of our new workbench to top deadflat. Dardanella Bench Update
Work continued on the Dardanella Sunset Bench this past Thursday thanks to Peter, Mary, Vince and Dave Lavergne. We resawed another Dardanella cedar column using the track saw and the bandsaw. They have been jointed and planed to make the seat slats. Because they came from the same column we have perfect book matched grain and consistent colour throughout. All of the parts for the bench side assemblies have been sanded at 120 grit. Peter used the wood we milled prior

Kidventure Summer Camp
We had amazing day at Kidventure Camp, Wasaga Beach Public School, organized by Alistair! The kids brought incredible energy, and the staff were super supportive throughout the day. The campers, together with volunteers from our club created 46 awesome tote kits, all engraved by Miki—and a few even made kits for their counselors! A huge thank you goes out to members who made it happen: Alistair, Glenn, Helen, Jack, Miki, and Michael!

Peter engraved and packaged our bottle openers. They're beautiful, one-of-a-kind, historical keep-sakes. Buyers will be presented with a black box and protective tissue paper as well as an authenticity card. Thank you Peter for all the finishing touches. Thank you to all members who designed, cut, glued, and sanded (Peter, Phil, Melodi, Dave L, Vince, Mary).

Wig Stands Donated to Cancer Centre
Miki and Mary presented twelve one‑of‑a‑kind wig stands to the Georgian Cancer Support Centre in Penetang on July 30. Paul and Bronson, who accepted the donation, shared that these beautifully crafted stands bring comfort and joy to individuals receiving wigs. They extend heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Joey successfully started our involvement with this project two years ago and Paul Eichorn requested that we continue supplying the wig stands in the years to come.
